Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- In a push for educational reform, Sri Lanka's Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, has stressed the need for a new education system that encourages a generation capable of solving global issues.
Speaking at the launch of 100 new Young Inventor Clubs in schools, she emphasised that an innovator's value is based on their social contribution, not academic qualifications.
The Prime Minister's remarks were made at a national event organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, held at the University of Colombo. She stated the government's duty is to create a nurturing environment for socially conscious and compassionate innovators.
