Sri Lanka, Feb. 21 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake told Parliament that investigations have revealed underworld influence within certain state institutions responsible for public security. He assured that all necessary measures would be taken to completely eliminate the underworld in the near future, while acknowledging that the process would take some time.
He made these remarks while chairing the first meeting of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Security of the Tenth Parliament.
