Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has announced that future incentives will be introduced to encourage export diversification and the development of value-added products.
The President made the remarks yesterday during a 2026 pre-budget discussion held with private sector representatives from the agriculture and food and beverage sectors.
He stated that the role of a government is to support industries rather than hinder them, and he underscored the importance of consulting with relevant sectors when drafting new regulations.
The meeting focused on a number of areas, including tax concessions, recycling, and the legal environment affecting the sector.
