Sri Lanka, July 24 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that no child should drop out of school.
He stated this is the main objective of the new educational reforms.
The President made these remarks today when he arrived at Parliament.
He noted that in 2023, there were 98 schools with no student admissions, 115 schools with fewer than 10 students, and 406 schools with fewer than 20 students.
There were also 752 schools with less than 30 students, 1,140 with less than 40 students, and 1,506 with less than 50 students.
The President highlighted that approximately 15% of the total school system consists of schools with fewer than 50 students.
