Sri Lanka, Jan. 31 -- A meeting was held between the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, and representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (30).
ADB representatives noted that Sri Lanka's tourism industry is making rapid progress and informed the Secretary about new projects planned for its development with ADB's support.
Discussions also focused on establishing new tourism zones and systematically involving state institutions in implementing future tourism development plans.
ADB representatives expressed satisfaction with the government's efforts to develop the tourism sector and acknowledged the progress achieved under its new programs.
