Sri Lanka, March 6 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake emphasized the responsibility of the Inland Revenue Department to collect the full tax revenue during a discussion with officials at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

The meeting focused on strategies to achieve the targeted revenue for the year, with the President stressing the need for more intervention to ensure tax collection beyond the current methods.

In a separate meeting, President Dissanayake also discussed long-term sustainable energy strategies with officials from the Ceylon Electricity Board. The discussion included energy conservation and ensuring a continuous energy supply, along with addressing current and future challenges in the sector.
