Sri Lanka, April 17 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake insists that all necessary measures will be taken to defeat any attempts to revive racism in the country.
He made the relevant remarks while addressing a public rally in Jaffna today.
Earlier in the day, at another public rally in Mannar, the President announced plans to expedite the resumption of a ferry service between Sri Lanka's Mannar and Rameshwaram in India.
He also mentioned that the government has decided to extend the "Aswasuma" relief benefits to an additional 400,000 families, starting from June.
