Sri Lanka, July 12 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that discussions with the United States reduced the imposed tariff rate, and the government hopes to gain further concessions by continuing these talks.

He made these remarks earlier today, during a discussion at the President's Office with all parties involved in the export industry regarding the economic challenges posed by the implementation of US tariffs.

The President expressed the government's aim to secure amendments that would be most favourable to Sri Lanka's economy, businesses, the business community, and public life.
