Sri Lanka, Dec. 5 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that families who have lost both their homes and livelihoods due to the disaster will be granted an allowance for three months, varying from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000 per month.

The President specified the breakdown of this monthly payment:

Families with two members will receive Rs. 25,000 per month.

Families with more than two members will receive Rs. 50,000 per month.
