Sri Lanka, Dec. 5 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that an allowance of Rs. 50,000 will be granted per household, irrespective of ownership, to individuals whose homes were affected by the "Ditwah" cyclone disaster, for the purpose of purchasing essential household items.

The President made this announcement while delivering a special statement in Parliament today.
