Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has stated that his government will not grant rights that negatively affect the public.
He emphasized that while a political movement and government must always stand for the rights of its employees, those rights must be fair, just, and beneficial to the general public.
Speaking at the launch of the construction of six new tanks at the Kolonnawa oil storage complex, the President said, "We will not give anyone any rights that negatively affect the country's future and its people. We need to rebuild this country anew. As the political authority, we have done everything on our part to rebuild it. We have done more than what was required."
