Srilanka, Nov. 25 -- The Uva Province Early Childhood Development Authority took steps to temporarily close all preschools in the Uva Province starting today (25) until further notice, due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions and heavy rainfall.

The main objective of the closure is to ensure the safety and security of the children and staff.

The Uva Province Early Childhood Development Authority will announce the date for the re-opening of the preschools later.

The Authority stated this decision was reached considering the heavy rain, intermittent strong winds, and road obstruction conditions.
