Sri Lanka, May 7 -- Former State Minister Prasanna Ranaweera has been remanded until May 19.
The order was issued by the Mahara Magistrate's Court after he surrendered to the court this morning through his lawyer.
His surrender came against a backdrop where an open warrant was issued against him over a case of allegedly preparing forged documents and illegally selling government-owned land in the Kiribathgoda area.
Ranaweera had been in hiding for over two months before turning himself in.
Former Minister Mervyn Silva and four other suspects linked to the same case have also been remanded until the 19th of May.
