Sri Lanka, July 21 -- A large tree has fallen onto a 33,000-volt power line running from Hatton to Talawakelle and St. Clair, causing extensive damage to the electrical system and disrupting power to several areas.
Nimal Samarakoon, the Electrical Superintendent at the Hatton Electricity Consumer Services Centre, stated that power has been cut off to numerous localities.
He added that efforts to remove the fallen tree are being hampered by the ongoing adverse weather conditions.
