Sri Lanka, April 24 -- Postal voting for 339 local government bodies commences today (24).
The Election Commission has announced that postal voting will also take place tomorrow (25) and on April 28 and 29 at various state institutions, including the Election Commissioner's Office, the Police Department, and District Secretariat Offices.
For this local government election, 663,499 applications for postal voting were received, but only 648,490 were accepted.
Postal voting is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM, and police security has been provided to the state institutions serving as polling centres.
