Sri Lanka, Feb. 10 -- Internal sources within the Electricity Board indicate that a short power cut may occur in the coming days following the breakdown at the Norochcholai Coal-fired Power Plant yesterday (09).

The Ministry of Energy has yet to make an official announcement, but sources suggest that restoring the system could take about a week. If power disconnections are implemented, they may last 15 to 20 minutes per day.

Authorities have reportedly instructed consumers to use electricity sparingly due to the current situation. Meanwhile, an emergency power cut was carried out yesterday from the West Coast Power Plant, sources told Hiru News.
