Sri Lanka, April 22 -- The funeral of His Holiness Pope Francis, who passed away, is scheduled to take place next Saturday, April 26.

The ceremony is reported to begin at 1:30 PM local time.

The Holy Father passed away yesterday morning at approximately 7:35 AM Vatican time, at his official residence, Casa Santa Marta.
