Sri Lanka, Feb. 13 -- Thousands of people visit Colombo daily, and while toilets have been provided for hygiene purposes at various locations, poor maintenance has become a serious issue. Many users complain about the filthy conditions of these facilities, which not only affect those using the toilets but also those nearby.

State institutions, including the National Transport Commission and the Urban Development Authority, have implemented toilet facilities across the city, but their upkeep has been neglected. Toilets that were meant to charge a fee of Rs. 20 are often found charging Rs. 40 or 50, causing further frustration among users.
