Sri Lanka, Feb. 11 -- A police sergeant was killed, while a constable and a warrant officer were injured when a three-wheeler belonging to the Bulathsinhala Police met with an accident.

The accident occurred while the three-wheeler was transporting a suspect to the Matugama Courthouse. It collided with a roadside post in the Kekulandala area of Agalawatte, according to police.

The deceased has been identified as Police Sergeant 7661 Rohitha, who was attached to the Bulathsinhala Police for case operations duty.

The injured police constable and a 52-year-old, a resident of Thibbottawawatta, Bulathsinhala, are receiving treatment at Pimbura Hospital.
