Sri Lanka, May 16 -- The Police are appealing to the public for information leading to the arrest of two individuals involved in a vehicle sales fraud operating under the name 'Lanka Car World'.

The Police Media Division stated that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is actively investigating a male and a female suspect who allegedly defrauded people by posting fake vehicle sales advertisements on websites and in newspapers. They reportedly maintained accounts in various banks to receive deposits from victims across the island.

Police investigations have revealed that the male suspect has a history of engaging in similar fraudulent activities. However, the current whereabouts of both suspects remain unknown.
