Sri Lanka, July 18 -- Police have commenced examining CCTV footage in the Paragahadeniya-Sinhapura area, along the Kurunegala-Kandy main road, in an effort to locate the mother of a baby abandoned in a paddy field.

Authorities stated that the one-day-old infant is currently in good condition and receiving treatment at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital.

The baby was discovered abandoned at the foot of a tree on a paddy field bank, following information received by the Mawathagama Police OIC.
