Sri Lanka, April 20 -- Police have received 211 complaints concerning election law violations related to the upcoming local government elections scheduled for the May 6th.

The Police Media Division has announced that these complaints consist of 45 criminal complaints and 166 complaints regarding general election law violations.

The Police Media Division further reported that 21 candidates and 70 of their supporters have been arrested in connection with these complaints.
