SriLanka, Jan. 25 -- The Kollupitiya Police have launched an investigation following a shooting incident that targeted a building on R.A. de Mel Mawatha early this morning (25).

According to police reports, the attack occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. CCTV footage from the area shows two individuals arriving on a motorcycle, one of whom opened fire at the building before the duo fled the scene.

Upon inspecting the site, investigating officers recovered 16 empty shell casings near the entrance of the building.

While the structural damage is being assessed, no casualties have been reported thus far.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
