Sri Lanka, Sept. 15 -- A police driver has been suspended from duty after he was caught on camera stealing from his colleagues' wallets and was later arrested with illegal drugs.
For some time, small amounts of money were going missing from the bags and wallets of police officers at the CCTV Division of the Deputy Inspector General of Police's office in Colombo.
The thefts caused suspicion and strained relationships among the officers.
To catch the culprit, officers secretly installed a security camera on the 1st of this month.
The camera recorded an apprentice police driver stealing a Rs.100 note from a police sergeant's wallet.
