Sri Lanka, April 4 -- The Sri Lanka Police have issued a statement denying rumors circulating on social media that street dogs and beggars will be removed from areas visited by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Police clarified that no such instructions have been issued by the Acting Inspector General of Police or the Police Headquarters to remove street dogs and beggars.

The statement further emphasized that no action will be taken to remove these groups of people or animals in connection with the Prime Minister's visit. However, the Acting Inspector General of Police has decided to investigate the origin of these rumors.
