Sri Lanka, July 19 -- A Police Constable has been suspended for allegedly submitting a false report to the Kalutara High Court, omitting the criminal history of a drug trafficker to secure his bail.

The suspended officer was attached to the Kalutara South Police Station.

The court had requested a report to consider bail for a drug trafficker who had been arrested.

The suspect police constable then allegedly submitted a falsified report to the court registrar.

It is reported that the constable deliberately excluded the drug trafficker's previous convictions from the report.
