Sri Lanka, July 14 -- Sri Lanka Police have recovered substantial quantities of illicit drugs and firearms through various operations conducted across the island so far this year, the Police Media Spokesperson announced at a press conference today (14).
According to the spokesperson, seizures include 922 kilograms of heroin and 1,386 kilograms of "Ice" (crystal methamphetamine).
In terms of weapons, 23 T56 assault rifles, 46 pistol-type firearms, 30 revolver-type firearms, and a total of 1,165 firearms, encompassing both locally manufactured and foreign models, have been confiscated.
