Sri Lanka, June 7 -- The Internal Affairs Unit of the Prime Minister's Office was officially established at the Temple Trees yesterday (6).

According to the Prime Minister's media division, this initiative aims to confirm the integrity of officials and foster a corruption-free public service in Sri Lanka.

Additional Secretary (Administration), Ruwan Jayasundara, has been appointed as the Head of the unit, with Administrative Officer K.A.S. Sripali as the Compliance Officer.

The unit's mandate includes introducing robust anti-corruption measures, implementing UN anti-corruption conventions, and planning the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan 2025 to 2029 under the Anti-Corruption Act.
