Srilanka, Nov. 10 -- A player died yesterday (09) during a soft-ball cricket match held at the Aluthapola Public Grounds in Minuwangoda at around 3:00 PM.

The deceased is identified as Ihalage Dhanushka Devinda Perera, a resident of Katuwellegama, Palugahawela.

Following the incident, he was immediately taken to the Minuwangoda Base Hospital but later died

The body of the deceased has since been taken to the Gampaha Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The Minuwangoda Police reported that the other player sustained no injury.
