Sri Lanka, Jan. 18 -- A 38-year-old resident of Oliyamulla, Wattala, has been killed following a violent dispute over pigeons in the Meegahawatta area of Peliyagoda.

The Peliyagoda Police confirmed that the victim died by injuries caused by a sharp weapon while being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.

The suspect involved in the incident also sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment under police guard at the Colombo National Hospital.

The Peliyagoda Police are conducting further investigations into the murder.
