Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- The Secretary-General of Parliament says the schedule for the 2026 budget has been finalised.

The Appropriation Bill is set for its first reading in Parliament on September 26.

The second reading, or the budget speech, will be delivered by the President on November 7, with the debate to follow from November 8 to 14.

The Committee Stage debate will then take place from November 15 to December 5.

The decision was made at a meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, today (11).
