Sri Lanka, June 20 -- Veteran Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan was discovered dead in her apartment at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7, Karachi, nearly one week after she had passed away.

She was 76 years old.

According to local media reports, Khan had been living alone for several years and had stayed away from the public eye.

The corpse of her decomposed body was found after being informed by the neighbours of a foul odour emanating from her house.

The police delivered the corpse to Jinnah Hospital for a post-mortem to find out the cause and time of her death.

The body was then shifted to the mortuary of the Edhi Foundation in Sohrab Goth following the medical inspection.
