Sri Lanka, Oct. 14 -- Police Spokesman, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F. U. Wootler, has announced that the police have taken steps to confiscate assets valued at Rs. 39.02 billion, confirmed to belong to alleged organised criminals.
The Spokesman stated that this confiscation process took place over the period from 2021 to 2024.
Furthermore, he highlighted that in 2025 so far, assets worth Rs. 73 million belonging to organised criminals have been confiscated.
These seizures from high-level racketeers include: 354 sovereigns of gold, 72 vehicles, 35 houses, approximately 37 acres of land, cash valued at Rs. 670 million
The Police Spokesman made these remarks while addressing a special press conference today (14).
