Srilanka, Dec. 26 -- Police arrested 322 drunk drivers during a special operation carried out yesterday (25).

As part of the operation, police checked 29,539 individuals and took 493 suspects into custody, including 15 persons directly connected to criminal activities.

Among those arrested were 179 suspects with outstanding warrants, while a further 88 were found to have open warrants. Police also arrested 36 individuals for reckless driving.

In addition, a total of 4,414 traffic offences were detected and reported during the operation. Vehicle Codes & Driving Laws
