Sri Lanka, May 30 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board reports that 29,015 power outages have been recorded nationwide due to ongoing severe weather conditions.

Strong winds and fallen trees, particularly in areas like Colombo, caused widespread disruptions to the power supply last night.

The CEB says restoration efforts are underway and progressing swiftly.

Residents experiencing outages are urged to report them by calling the short code 1987 or using the CEB Care mobile app.
