Sri Lanka, July 14 -- Excise Department officials yesterday (13) seized 216,000 tablets of dangerous drugs, classified as illegal narcotics, during a raid in the Norochcholai area of Puttalam.
According to a statement issued by the Excise Department, the market value of these seized drugs is estimated to be approximately Rs. 10.8 million.
The raid was conducted by officers of the All-Island Excise Special Operations Unit, under the directives of Excise Commissioner General M.B.N.A. Premaratne, Deputy Excise Commissioner (Law Enforcement) Tissa Kumara Rajapaksa, Excise Superintendent Sunil P. Arachchi, and the Officer-in-Charge of the All-Island Excise Special Operations Unit, Nirosh Jayakody.
