Sri Lanka, May 1 -- The National Dengue Control Unit has reported a significant number of dengue infections across the island this year, with over 17,450 cases recorded since January 1.
Speaking at a press conference at the Health Promotion Bureau yesterday, the Director of the unit, Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, highlighted that April alone saw a concerning 5,018 cases.
Out of that number, the Ratnapura district has recorded the highest number of dengue patients.
