Sri Lanka, July 11 -- A total of 237,026 candidates have qualified for the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination based on the results of this year's G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination.

This represents 73.45% of the candidates.

This was stated by the Commissioner General of Examinations, A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage, at a press conference held this morning (11).

The examination, held from the 17th to the 26th of March across 3,664 centres, saw a total of 474,147 applicants.

This included 398,182 school candidates and 75,965 private candidates.

Among the successful candidates, 13,390 individuals achieved 'A' passes for all subjects, which accounts for 4.15% of the total.
