Sri Lanka, May 17 -- The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) reports that the number of individuals registered and departed for foreign employment has surpassed the 100,000 mark this year.
According to the SLBFE, a total of 100,413 individuals have registered and gone abroad for employment between January and today.
Out of this number, 36,263 registered through licensed foreign employment agencies, while 64,150 have travelled without registering with any foreign employment agency.
The breakdown by gender includes 39,496 women and 60,917 men.
