Sri Lanka, June 2 -- Over 10,000 people have been affected by the recent adverse weather conditions, according to the Disaster Management Centre.

The Department of Meteorology indicates that rainfall is expected to gradually decrease from today (2).

Over the past few days, heavy rains and strong winds impacted many areas across the island, including Colombo, leading to reports of fallen trees and property damage.

In Divulapitiya, the primary section building of Sri Gnanaweera Maha Vidyalaya was damaged by strong winds.

The Argyle Estate in Hatton also saw houses damaged by severe gusts.
