Sri Lanka, April 18 -- The Election Commission has announced that a total of 1,591 complaints have been received to date concerning the upcoming local government elections.

According to the Election Commission, the majority of these grievances, totalling 1,405, were lodged with the District Election Offices.

An additional 186 complaints were received by the National Election Complaints Management Centre.

The Election Commission is likely reviewing these complaints as preparations for the local government elections continue.
