Sri Lanka, June 21 -- The outgoing Defence Attache (DA) of the United States (US) in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony C. Nelson, paid a farewell courtesy call on the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), yesterday (20) at the Ministry of Defence.

According to the Ministry, the Defence Secretary extended his appreciation to Lt Col Nelson for his efforts in strengthening defence relations between Sri Lanka and the US during his tenure.

Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest and on-going cooperation in the defence sphere.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a formal exchange of mementoes took place, symbolising goodwill and the longstanding defence partnership between the two nations.
