Sri Lanka, Feb. 19 -- Reports indicate an organized gang, including a group of women, is stealing valuables, particularly mobile phones, in Kandy city and surrounding areas.

Bus workers have observed suspicious women boarding buses daily from Kandy, Katugastota, and Yativawala. Similar groups have been seen in Mahaiyawa, particularly on buses traveling from Kandy to Katugastota.

Thefts are frequently reported in areas such as Katugastota, Bogambara, the public market, Torrington, and the clock tower, where many buses terminate. There is also a rising trend of such incidents on buses traveling from Kandy to Kurunegala and Matale.
