Sri Lanka, Jan. 16 -- Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Anuradhapura District Member of Parliament Rohana Bandara has announced his intention to file formal complaints with the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission (SLHRC) and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) regarding ongoing death threats and the lack of adequate police protection.

The MP revealed that despite initial confirmation of these threats by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) based on intelligence reports, no concrete security measures have been implemented.

Bandara criticised the IGP for suggesting that the matter be resolved internally within his political party, an assertion he labelled as "unfair" and an attempt to trivialise his safety.
