Sri Lanka, Oct. 25 -- The Leader of the Opposition, Sajith Premadasa, stated today that the country is currently facing an "underworld culture" that destroys human lives, rather than a culture of development.

He made these remarks while addressing a public meeting and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) membership promotion program held today in the Lunupokuna area of Colombo North.

The Opposition Leader questioned the government, led by the JVP, which came to power promising a "system change" and an end to the 76-year pattern of national destruction, asking why they cannot solve the people's problems despite having so much power today.

He emphasised that the government must stop its false boasting and deliver on its promises.
