Sri Lanka, April 10 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa told Parliament today that the government should initiate discussions with the International Monetary Fund to extend the loan repayment period, warning that US-imposed tariffs on Sri Lanka could have severe future economic consequences.
Meanwhile, the second reading of the Value Added Tax Amendment Bill was passed with amendments.
