Srilanka, Nov. 25 -- Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa stated in Parliament today (25) he can prove with evidence that the requirement for a certificate from the Civil Defense Committee Chairman to obtain a police report is not a lie, but a fact.

Premadasa pointed out that according to Standing Order 91, no Member of Parliament should be accused or have their private affairs mentioned. He claimed his privileges were breached by comments made about him in the House.

The Leader of the Opposition re-emphasized that the mandatory recommendation of the Public Security Committee or the Civil Defense Committee is required to obtain a police certificate.
