Srilanka, Nov. 21 -- The opposition today (21) formally requested Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne, in writing, to appoint a Special Parliamentary Select Committee to examine the processes within the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
The proposal asks for the appointment of the Committee to investigate the JSC's exercise of powers related to appointments, promotions, transfers, dismissals, and disciplinary control of judicial officers.
