Sri Lanka, Feb. 26 -- An open verdict has been given on the body of a Chinese national named Shu Cheng Gang, who died while staying in a room on the 22nd floor of a luxury hotel in Colombo.

It is reported that this verdict was given after the autopsy was conducted by the Forensic Medical Officer of the Colombo National Hospital.

Acting Fort Magistrate Kingsley Hettiarachchi has also granted permission to hand over the body of the deceased foreign national to his wife, Shu Cheng Xiang, and to take the body to China, and it is said that the Police have been ordered to file a report with the court on March 3.

The OIC of the Police Minor Complaints Division says that statements were taken from about seven people for the autopsy.
