Srilanka, Dec. 9 -- One spill gate of the Upper Kotmale Reservoir remains open since yesterday (08).

This measure was taken to maintain the water level of the reservoir at a normal level.

Currently, the catchment areas of Upper Kotmale are receiving slight rainfall once again.

The engineers in charge of the reservoir stated that the opening of a spill gate was due to this renewed rainfall.
